Flicking though the tv channels last night… what a bad night to stay in with NOTHING on TV!!! anyhoo came across ‘come dine with me’ a prog about 5 strangers all cooking for each other and then marking the whole evening.. out of 10… winner gets a 1K!
Set me thinking, first I definitely would not want to cook for 5 strangers, the ones we watched were horrid about and to each other so that’s out, but I do love the game of who would you most like to have around your table and in my version of the game would be what would you cook!
First I would love Stephen Fry, yes I know everyone would but he would be at the top of my list, he seems so gentle and a caring gent, think he would be fascinating, plus I love QI,
Also I would love to have Richard E Grant and Alan Rickman, again uber interesting guys and to be honest in my mind down right sexy beasts, I am a huge fan of WITHNAIL and I, and everything Rickman does!
Jodi Picoult, if you haven’t read her books please do they are all GREAT…. she has a new one coming out end of April called Handle with Care, she lives in New Hampshire and its interesting she has sold over 16 million copies world wide and has 6 number 1 best sellers in GB.
Lisa Armstrong would be a great girl to have at the table she is a very witty writer, fashion in The Times but several novels too.
Fern Britton, I imagine she is a giggler and a down to earth one at that, she strikes me as being very compassionate. OOOHHH and Ben Miller, I have enjoyed his Moving Wallpaper, Armstrong and Miller, Worse week of my life, etc etc, very funny man and brill actor, as is Hugh Bonneville, he has to be there too…
…he is also so so sexy

this is my fantasy and my table, so it will be a big one!!
Lynda Bellingham she has the best voice ever and I think would be strong enough to cope with the boys, I watch her on Loose Woman and love it when she goes against the others in her opinions, she is a great actress too… see her in Calender Girls just going into the West End.
I am sure my list will change as the weeks, months past but this is it for this week…
and the food well think an asparagus risotto starter, a whole salmon stuffed with roquefort and spinach cooked in a foil parcel with lots of black pepper and lemon juice, served with baby jersey royals and minted pea salad ( fresh peas tossed in a fresh mint, olive oil and black pepper dressing, you can add tiny asparagus too) and for pud… absolutely anything that contains dark chocolate!
and of course marigold, will you come dine with me?
