Petesfield is in sunny Hampshire, the south of England! That’s the home of Ben Southall and according to much of the press this week he has landed the ‘best job in the world’…. it’s actually a job as caretaker on an island off the Great Barrier Reef down under in Australia.
But is that the dream job, the best job in the world, admittedly it is reported to be paying in the region of £75K and he did apply along with 35,000 others and GOT IT …. So proud, yes he should be and he is 34yrs so has a lot of time to enjoy the ‘lifestyle’… but for me I could not think of anything worse! maybe that’s cause I’m a girl …..
The best job in the world could be: working for Vogue in Paris, testing Green and Black organic chocolate ice cream, Jimmy Choo insisting on giving me all his shoes to trial before they go the general public, choosing all the work that goes into Tate and Tate Britain, being David Beckhams masseur! Being Stephen Frys PA…. or Kevin Spacey… I have a thing for the theatre, being one of the women on Loose Women, being an interior designer who never has to worry about budgets! Oh and always has great clients, a book reviewer on radio and interviewing all the writers of my fav books…. a writer, a midwife, that must be fantastic to see the start of new life every day.
The very worse jobs in the world could be: PM, admittedly it is self inflicted and he does end up with a massive pension and an ongoing career etc etc (thinking Tony Blair here) but just look at the photos of Gordon Brown this weekend, empting a cesspit/septic tank all day every day, hats off to those guys, being the plastic surgeon to Jackie Stallone, actually I think a belly and bum surgeon might be much worse, a train driver, (there seems to be someone throwing themselves on the line EVERY time I get on one)
