Wimbledon

We talk about leather on willow as the essential sound of an English summer, but how could you beat the thrill of Wimbledon?

Sun, rain, babes, strawberries and cream, Murray mania, ‘you cannot be serious’, straw hats, good ol’ BBC, Ralph Lauren uniform, mown grass, weather checks, men in shorts who should wear shorts, queues, ticket touts, sunburned shoulders, Henman Hill, tears, traffic, tantrums, grunts, floral frocks, picnic hampers, tourists, patriotism, ‘no flash photography’, baseball caps, ‘out’, royal box, union jacks and balls, balls, balls…..

Oh, and of course the tennis.
