AUDREY HEPBURN CLOTHES UP FOR AUCTION

 

The beauty of Twitter … have just read that a collection of  the late Audrey Hepburn, star of films such as Breakfast At Tiffany’s and My Fair Lady,  are up for auction in December.

Audrey Hepburn was a fashion and style icon of her time, she  had a sense of her own unique and personal style and she was  huge fan of Hubert de Givenchy using the designer in most of her films and for whom Hepburn became a muse.

 This is such a rare and exciting opportunity to own something of such great beauty worn by a legend

Amongst the items for sale will be the chantilly lace cocktail dress she wore in How To Steal A Million in 1966,  by Givenchy.  There will be 36 pieces in total, featuring cocktail dresses, blouses, tweed coats, evening jackets and negligees  there will also be hats and belts on sale  dating from 1953 to the late ‘60s,

In the evening-wear collection there will be a number of little black dresses by Valentino, Elizabeth Arden and Hubert de Givenchy,

Half of all the proceeds will go to The Audrey Hepburn Children’s Fund and Unicef  joint venture, All Children In School,

The auction takes place on Tuesday 8 December 2009 at 2pm at the La Galleria, Royal Opera Arcade, Pall Mall, London, with estimates starting at £400.

Tuesday 8th December 9am – 11am
