Shocking news in the world of fashion as designer, the London Fashion Week fav, LUELLA BARTLEY is seeking a new backer so she can continue with her amazing label…. news is she is not being backed by Club 21 !!! (they have taken the decision not to invest further in  Luella Bartley Limited)
On twitter there is a campaign to save Luella Bartley,  the news has sent fashion world in to a bit of a spin.
So the recession has finally hit the big guns… it was thought that the label hunters and readers of mags like Vogue and Elle would be ok, that they would still have the disposable income as they had so much of it the first place!!!!… the tightening of belts was only going to hit the masses NOT the very wealthy! which is a weird thought as they were the ones probably losing most in the way of stocks and shares etc etc etc..
Advertising seems to have got less in the glossy mags .. quite a few magazines now are much thinner that they used to be, so is the writing on the wall… ooh no pun intended!
I am sad about the Luella label though… her first collection was in spring/summer 2002 and went into New Look, she has become a favorite here and in the States, her style is a kind of geeky chic with an essence of rock chick… but still feminine… and I just love her bags….each one has her special ’heart’ tag…. it will be a great shame if she can’t continue.
