SERIUOS WARNING… BEWARE OF SOME AMAZON MARKETPLACE SELLERS… I have just heard of a very clever scam… even the ‘fraud dept police’ are now involved.. You go on to Amazon web site…see something, put it in your basket and purchase! it turns out the seller is an amazon marketplace seller… then your troubles begin! At first it seems like one very clever, greedy but determined person who was making dosh at the expense of others! but it goes deeper and more widespread than that, including using buyers details (postal addresses etc) to open bank accounts and credit cards. Hacking into and copy buyers email addresses, worse … Read More »
I’ve never really listened to Terry Wogan in the mornings, but heard the final half hour of his radio show today. He really is a great broadcaster and has that amazing talent of picking up on the ordinary and making it seem special for you and me. His warmth and self-deprecating humour are legendary – good luck Sir Terry, I am sure you will be missed by your legion of fans.

Saturday nights won’t be the same once Strictly finishes tomorrow. As summer wanes and gallops headlong into autumn, The X Factor and Strictly are two of the few bright stars in the dark winter weekend skies. World summits in Copenhagen, collapsing Scottish airlines, BA in turmoil and tragic stories from Afghanistan all highlight how we need light entertainment, and although critics will always love to knock such programmes, it’s interesting to see how they can unite a country where world and religious leaders fail.

Why is it that whilst this country is in the worst recession for years, unemployment is rising and the future is very uncertain, it is impossible to get hold of a builder, an electrician, have anything delivered or book a single thing before Christmas because ’we’re so busy/rushed off our feet/can’t fit you in till February’ ?????

I have purchased a blackberry phone… it is so different from my last phone I have nearly thrown it out! 3 times so far….but at last I am getting to grips with it … however I have had several problems with connection… most of them NOT my inadequate IT skills… Yesterday and in fact today I couldn’t get Internet access…. my lovely slim trim BB Curve is on a contract with Orange and so I got in touch with their business tech support team… I spoke to a wonderful lady called Alex… she was fantastic, at NO point did she make me feel … Read More »
We just thought you may need/like some ideas for your Christmas shopping… or ideas for pressies… so here are a few web sites that have caught our eye.. have fun shopping on line… But stay safe, we have heard of some terrible scams with online shopping…steer clear of ‘marketplace sellers’! even if you know the main site, you can still get ‘screwed’ and the umbrella company can just tell you ”tough luck” and wash their hands of the scam (an example will be a whole blog one day!) We have used or know these sites below and all (seem) to be good and prompt with delivery…hope this … Read More »

Firstly, a very big thank you to Cupcake who has kept the blog fires a’burning whilst old Marigold has been tearing about manically and trying to fit all those square pegs into round holes. You’ve been doing a great job girl and deserve an extra cherry on the cake for those fab interviews. Had to go to hospital yesterday for desperately dull reasons so am confined to quarters today, giving me the opportunity to do some catching up and write my Christmas cards. Each year I pledge to send less and save the planet, the postman and my pocket. And every year I send more, … Read More »
