 Kennedy Purple is a recently launched website which likes to think it’s
the best of Bag, Borrow or Steal (as mentioned in Sex and the City thank
you, please) meets ASOS. It’s the first site in the UK that rents out
handbags, jewellery AND accessories and some fabulous ones at that!
The Bag Bank has terrific totes, clutches and top handles. The Accessories
Closet holds beautiful belts and scarves.
And if you rummage through the Jewellery Box you’ll find a treasure trove of necklaces, bracelets,
rings…even watches for goodness sake!
There are over 150 products from 40 designers, plenty of which are
exclusive for hire through the site – from Prada to Balenciaga, Miu Miu
to Jimmy Choo, and Louis Vuitton to Christian Louboutin…we’re
brandlicious! We also have a small collection of high street pieces
because sometimes high street still means high prices. And because
everyone hates to wait? Each and every product has it’s own individual
booking diary so no nasty waiting lists to join – you can pick what you
want, when you want it, and how long for. We think everyone’s style
should be individual, but we all need inspiration from time to time and
some of the best people to get that from are celebrities. So whether you
want Carrie Bradshaw’s accessories, Cheryl Cole’s jewels or Beyonce’s
arm candy of choice – we’ve got the lot bagged up. Using drop down
menu’s you can search by your favourite celebrity…or colour…or designer.

The site was started by me, Joanne Halley and after lots of hard work
(it ain’t all fun and games sadly) went live in December 2009. I’m 30
years old, am Glasgow born and bred, work full-time as a TV editor and
believe firstly – why have one job when you can have two? Secondly, I
think fashion should be fun…and the cost of designer pieces is
inaccessible to many of us. But why should it be? Everyone deserves to
have a little bit of luxury and the option to rent can be a much more
attractive option than investing a month’s rent to buy one piece that
could lose it’s appeal after a while. Also, I’ve been a size 6 and a
size 16…clothes (even shoes) don’t always fit us the way we would
like, but accessories are for anybody at any time. They can make or
break an outfit and well, they’re just so much damn fun!    Â
Hopefully my website will help women feel good and let them get a taste
of something they otherwise may not be able to. If nothing else (and
yes, I’m biased) it’s nice to look at and fun to read…just like all
the pieces on it. Whether someone wants a different bag for every month,
or just wants something extra special for a special occasion -
hopefully we’ve got it.
