QI BACK TO BACK – VERSES – AMERICAN DRAMA AND COMEDY

 

It’s Saturday evening… an evening at home, shoes off, feet up, wine in hand and relaxed with supper on laps in front of TV…

We have watched the dance progs, Harry Hill, caught up with Modern Family and The Good Wife (sky) my choice and then back to back QI… four in a row thanks to sky plus… both OH and I were giggling, smiling, ‘belly laugh out loud’ and being thoroughly entertained.

When you think about it, it’s cheap but excellent telly… 5 chairs… bit of backing set, a few camera men, a sort of desk for Stephen to sit at being the teach and 4 bods with a wealth of  comedic  prowes… it is the clever comments, their timing, the way they make each other laugh and of course the very, not just quite interesting, facts that coming pouring forth from the master that is Stephen Fry…

Last week we, well me with him popping in and out!!! were watching Celeb Big Bro’ which probably cost a fortune, the house, fully furnished, food, the fee’s for the celebs and Davina, all the tech staff needed to support and run the show…it is the complete opposite of QI, I am not complaining or knocking CBB7, but for me the best bit of watching the whole 4 weeks were the ‘tweets’… yep I am sucked in to twitter, I love it and I don’t care who knows it…it provided some of the best comedy I have heard/read in a while… very sharp, very clever.

QI is simply a wonderful show with real and amazing talent…this was the highlight of the evening for hubby….  he quite enjoys the American programmes, the quality of scripts and slick production, but for him QI is the definitive TV….. I have to agree.
