I love the company COX & COX, I have been using them for ages, great for gifts, the garden, childrens pressies and just ideas oh and wedding ‘bits’ I had ordered some bits for a wedding… table decorations to be precise, when they arrived the ‘bits’ were not quite right, not exactly how I thought they would look. I needed a few more bits and pieces so rang my order through, I mentioned that I had been a bit disappointed with one of the last items and before I could utter another word this very kind lady told me she would replace them … Read More »
A girlfriend in her late 30′s has just fallen pregnant after several failed attempts at IVF. We are all over the moon for her and her joy and the sheer sense of magic she is enjoying is wonderful to see. But she has had a very, very painful journey, and one which I can readily relate to. No one who hasn’t suffered the agony of infertility can possibly imagine how it can totally take over your life. Infertility is an all embracing medical condition, emotional state and practical headache, a journey which takes you to the apex of anticipation and the utter depths of despair … Read More »
Cupcake has done it again – got me into huge trouble with her shopping search and now has me addicted to looking at the French Bedroom Company I’ve always been totally in love with everything French, from expensive Chanel to more affordable soap from Marseille, from romantic holidays in the capital to breakfasts of warm croissants and apricot jam. Just looking at the website makes me think I’m in Provence with all that distressed wood and quirky contemporary pieces. Take a look yourself and just think blue skies, pantiled roofs, 2cv’s and smell the lavender… marigold xx

We have done it again… well in fact Twitter can take the credit for this intro, we met Gisele through Twitter, and we were completely blown away at how much she had accomplished…what an extraordinary woman, check out the web site http://www.mirskincare.com Here is Gisèle Mir’s story I originally qualified as a lawyer (solicitor/attorney) but began researching and experimenting with cosmetic ingredients in the early nineties because I could find nothing to help my sensitive, blemish-prone skin. My botanical blends helped to calm and clear my skin and I began to dream about having my own range developed but had no idea how to … Read More »
We have already told you about our passion for this company and we are always keeping an eye on their web site… latest additions are just to good to miss. Two summer ranges, pastels and colour. I think our bank managers are going to moan about it … but really how can we not make a purchase or two… there is a lot less chatting and more images in this post because we couldn’t decide what to leave out! Pastels are all over the catwalk for Spring Summer 2010, and it’s only a matter of time before they filter into the interiors world, … Read More »
Love Cupcake’s new Alexa. Not jealous in the slightest of course, as have my eye on two perfect little ‘D’s! Firstly, the Daphne from Smythson, and secondly the D bag from Todd’s. Decisions, decisions. Just as well the budget doesn’t allow. Marigold x

It isn’t very often that a TV advert really makes an impact on me, but I have been so impressed by the power and simplicity of the current dementia awareness advertisements. ‘I have dementia and I have a life’ says it all really. Lets not judge those around us whom we don’t understand and who at times can be frustrating – it’s scary just how many of us it affects. Marigold xx

We have all read the news of the Mendes/Winslet split, it is a sad story, probably, in reality, faults on both sides. Shame that in every article there HAS to be the mention of the cringy Oscar acceptance speech and the fact that she had talked, many times, about her ‘weight/body image issue’s’ Way back in Titanic days she was a fresh faced 21 year old, curvy, lush, down-to-earth girl and was proud of her curves, does anyone remember her kicking arse when GQ Mag wanted to slim her down! photoshop wise… she was having none of it, ‘keep it real’ was her attitude. I really admired … Read More »
If you follow us on twitter you will know I have been lusting after this bag and it arrived just now… I am overjoyed! You may feel with all the terrible things going on in the world I should get a grip and stop being a daft materialistic drama queen and your right I should but this makes me smile and is like therapy. The texture, the colour, the inside, all beautiful… so it’s much more than just a bag, it’s a work of art, sheer genius!
SOAP AND GLORY SKINCARE I have spent a lot of money on beauty products over the years, starting as a 14 yr old, (my big sister was a beautician) and they say you get what you pay for! mostly I agree with that. Some of my very favorite products, that I could NOT live without are from REN, at the moment I am using ‘rose synergy o12 restoring facial serum’ to give it it’s full title, but in fact all their skin products are sheer bliss to use. And ‘WEI replenish-yin Tibetan Safflower age defying face cream’ and even … Read More »
I never thought in writing a blog I’d post something on football – even though I know I will be one of those women secretly enjoying the World Cup in June. But my heart really goes out to David Beckham this week, with his hopes of playing in a record fourth World Cup dashed through injury. I am no particular fan of either Mr or Mrs Beckham, but there are some things money can’t buy, and in many cases dreams are one of those. Disappointment is something that in many cases doesn’t get easier to bear as you get older. OK, so maybe we … Read More »
I was all ready to have a little rant about a lot of things in life that seem tedious, time-wasting and get your goat!, my life I hasten to add i.e. I am still on what appears to be a very long waiting list for my over sized inky blue new Alexa (Mulberry bag). The fact that someone keeps sending me emails using friends email addresses with a dot in the wrong place! spam or virus??? well I’m on to it now but do beware it’s doing the rounds apparently. My car has been re-called for the third time, which means I am … Read More »
Well, I’m not really that clever at all but I’ve managed to get my head round my terminal hard drive and have spent the last week piecing together deleted e-mails, printed off documents and searching in the depths of my memory, which lets face it these days isn’t that deep at all, and have sort of created a back up all of my own which has allowed me to make some sense of all that lost work. And whilst that has taken forever to do, I have this sense of accomplishment, rather as if I’ve just broken a code or deciphered some ancient Egyptian … Read More »

This a jokey email sent to me this morning, you know the ones that go around and around, usually threatening you with eternal damnation if you don’t send the money, prayer or peace angel on to your entire address book. I’m guessing that might the way hackers get to your computer or send you a good luck virus! But for the first time I did read all of this, it does have a ring of truth about it and it made me smile. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL of you WHO WERE BORN IN THE1930′s 1940′s, 50′s, 60′s and early 70′s ! First, we survived being born to mothers who … Read More »
My friend has been dumped by the love of her life……… So what can she do? And as her friends what do we do? First we call in all her mates for lots of tea (or vodka, mainly vodka) and sympathy. Maybe she’ll even ask for advice, knowing of course she’s not going to take it. What she really needs to do is to be able to slag off the ex and his co-conspirators: his mates, girlfriends, illicit affairs, mother, father, everyone associated with him, that’s where we the mates come in to help, we MUST stay silent while she does this. She has … Read More »
