AD MAN’ WE ARE NOT DUMB!

 

THIS A SHORT BUT HEART FELT BLOGGETT….

Why do the advertising agencies think we are all dumb, I bet you all have a long list of ad’s you hate most… well last night I was getting majorly p****d off.

OK take British Gas.. the little man on planet earth, ringing you to tell you he is on his way because “you have a life to get on with” or some such crap, well yes I do have a life to get on with, a busy one at that, but this winter I had to wait and wait all one day and into the next because he not only ‘did NOT ring’  but he just didn’t bother to come…and when I rang to find out why I was told by ‘customer services’ that he had been toooooo busy, WTF!  I asked her if it would have been a good business policy if someone could have rung to let me know that.. she was not amused, but then seriously neither was I. For two days I stayed in my house waiting! so that ad is a huge pile of BS

Another one that drives me only slightly less mad is the Special K one, ‘winter into spring’, she is walking along in trench coat and next she is coming out of shop with new red dress… which frankly looks horrid, then she is posing with mates and they are all tiny, she is a giant! I know I have no real reason to complain about that one other than I am not going to lose 6 stone by eating Special K and to be honest I just hate the ad.

So you people who write, think-up and then sell the ideas to your clients, remember we are not stooopid! and telling great big porky pies ain’t going to work, it will not help you, putting 6 pairs of false eyelashes on a model and then tell us that it’s the mascara doesn’t work, for a start we can see the glue line!

There are far too many ads to name and shame or to bitch about them all, and I don’t want to put my blood pressure up, but if you have pet hates, ad’ (no pun intended) them to our list, let us know your ‘favorite to hate’ ad.
