Just to let our entire email address contacts and anyone else know we are not in Spain, India, or the States… in desperate need or trouble, we do NOT need you to send us cash!
How do these people hack into our E address/contact lists? We have a great number of contacts and I know you’ll think it stupid of us but all our business and personal ones are merged, I keep meaning to seperate them but never get around to doing it, lets face it I would rather sit and eat my own spleen than to sit for hours doing that job! and yes now I regret it!
We always do a BCC if sending out multi address emails and I do get so cross when I see ours in a great long list of complete strangers… We now have a stock email we send to the offender that explains how to send a BCC and our thoughts on the person adding our contact details on their very long list! which is rather to the point verging on rude.
We try to do all we can to protect the computer and our contacts, we have no idea how one gets hacked into, we do regular virus updates and scans, we cull ones we are never going to contact again, we have firewall, spy-ware, anti-virus and god knows what else… and yet we have fallen pray!
If you do want to send us $3000 do not use the bank details provided in the spoof email, we will send you ours under secret cover!!!
Oh and hackers and spam’ers we didn’t enter that competition …. and no we don’t want viagra, many extra hours of sex or a longer willy! but thank you.
