For a number of years I have been having problems with my knees and back which has involved lots of physio… painful and hateful but needs must.. well at last weeks session my torturer recommended that I get a hula hoop… it will be perfect for my needs!
I looked at the web sites selling the hoops, I needed one with light weights and foam covered, less bruising I’m told, what I had not realized is that the humble hoop, so popular in the 50′s, like everything else vintage or retro is making a huge come back… but as a fitness craze this time not a toy! who knew!
There are classes, videos and books galore on the art of hula hooping, it works the core muscles and the legs, and for me my bum hurt so either I am doing it wrong or it does in fact work the bum too, does this mean I might get my bum back up to where it belongs?
It can burn off calories and give me a waist, which to be honest will be a bloody miracle as it is a long while since I saw a waist. It’s all about the thrust not rotating… you see I had gone wrong already, I was struggling with the rotate!
Once you have mastered the art, which should take only a couple of min’s, it’s addictive, pyhsio’s opinion not mine, YET!  I think I may need more instructions though (mine were in chinese when hoop arrived this morning) so time to get him to put his money were his mouth is… or hips in this case, just wish he was hot!
Will keep you posted with progress now I am a mover and shaker.
