Masterchef revisited

Would you believe it?  Just as I am transfixed by Dhruv’s wedding ring finger, he loses the aforementioned gold band in his first course!  Sorry Dhruv – didn’t mean to tempt fate…

Last night’s second leg of this year’s final didn’t disappoint and I’m not sure whether I’m excited about tonight or sad that the series will be over for another year.  I’m sorry, but the celebrity version just doesn’t cut the mustard.

Since this series began, I’ve found myself sharpening my knives, perusing my cookery books and even whipping the lid off my yoghurt with culinary gusto and flair, imagining I will create some cumin flavoured stuffed something or other with a saffron infused sauce each evening.  I did this after I saw Julie and Julia last year, and there is just something so wonderfully satisfying about being creative in the kitchen and seeing the fuits of your endeavours appreciated – even if you are exhausted afterwards.  This time I’m not going to slip back in to my old habits and revert to cooking old favourites once again….or so I tell myself now.

So roll on 9.00, good luck to all and can’t wait till Masterchef next year.  Missing you already.
