MOBILE PHONES AND TETRA MASTS… DO WE REALLY KNOW THE TRUTH?

For many years I have been aware that mobile phones are really dodgy for our health… but all along we have been told ‘yes they are safe, there are no proven problems’ but every now and then there is another story in the press about the fact they are not!..

Again this week in the news is the information about the risks, particularly to the young, the risk of developing a brain tumour or some form of a cancer. The radiation from the handsets ARE SIMPLY NOT GOOD FOR US!

There will always people who will poopoo the research findings, some way of discrediting it because they have a financial interest. When will we learn, let us do long term research and I do mean LONG TERM, before rolling out these money making gadgets.

Don’t misunderstand me I know just how amazing the mobile phone is, it would be hypocritical to say anything else, I know how useful it can be, I do have one, I use mine for texting, instant messaging, tweeting and if stuck somewhere I may even use the phone part… but it scares me every time I hold it to my head! I am more concerned for the youngsters… maybe there should be an age restriction until we fully understand the ramifications.

I can restrict the amount of time I hold it to my ear… but with the masts every where you turn you just can’t avoid them, we have no choice about the amount of these things going up at a rate of knots, this industry is so huge that no one is going to tell us the real truth about the dangers!

About 7 years ago I joined a massive group of people who were fighting the local planning dept against giving permission ’to erect several TETRA MASTS across the county’  I am not against technology or progress but the more I read up on these masts the more frightened I became… I went to lots of meetings and learnt a lot about the system. They were even being put up without planning consent at 2, 3 and 4am when there was no one around to stop them and then applying for retrospective permission.

What’s worse was these masts, that were being rolled out all over the country, were potential dangerous, no real medical research on living cells had been done in to the medical effect on the people living around the mast! Schools were a big target because they a] needed the money and b] had playing fields.

I even spoke to a district nurse in Scotland who had such an overwhelming increase in the number of  people on her round with MND, breast, cervical and testicular and brain cancers, and a large cluster of children with Leukemia, this all happened one year after a TETRA mast went up on the edge of the village.

These particular masts work on a 24/7 with constant emissions, the people making money and the government will tell you different. I was lucky enough to meet one of the many scientists that explained in great length the effects of these waves on our brains. Interestingly other countries are doing research and have banned this form of communication!

But of course money and greed were very influential and the Masts are up. I won’t go into the whole technical details, suffice it to say I learnt a lot over the 4 year battle and it scared me.
