Apart from falling off the wagon last week into my delicious lasagne, the detox plan went pretty well.Â
I consciously drank more water than I have in years, had no alchohol at all and restricted the coffee to once a day –  and had the most terrible headache all week. Well, it wasn’t that bad – just enough to make me feel grumpy and lethargic. I felt hungrier than usual, a side effect I know of any kind of healthy eating/living regime when all you do is think ahead to the next meal, and yesterday shared half a slice of cake with a friend. No, I didn’t feel guilty, and yes, I felt a whole lot better.  Whatever all the diet and healthy eating books say, I am a firm believer in ‘a little of what you fancy does you good’. A doctor said to me once ‘Eat what you want, its what your body wants – just don’t eat too much of it’ and I think that’s good advice.Â
I haven’t weighed myself yet as I don’t want to get obsessive, and for me this is more about looking after my health as number one priority. But I have to say I’m disappointed my jeans don’t feel remotely looser and my eyes and skin don’t appear any different. But I’m sticking with it. Any ideas?
