For a week now I have been trialing Raiyia Body Treatment Mask with the promise I will uncover a divine decollete. And reader, I think it might just be happening…
The decollete is one of those areas I, and I suspect many of you, tend to neglect. When it comes to my face I’m scrupulous at moisturising and always using a high spf foundation or tinted moisturiser, but apart from a general all over body lotion after my shower, I don’t give my chest area the attention it deserves. When you think about it, along with your face and your hands, the decollete is the one area often exposed to all our weather patterns, and like our necks and the backs of our hands, is an unforgiving barometer of our age.

The 97% natural Raiyia No6 Bergamot, Ginger and Cocoa Butter Body Treatment Mask promises to ’ send you on a sensory journey to the citrus groves and spice trail, with evocative gragrances of lemon, bergamot, mandarin, mate, rosemary, petitgrain, ginger, nutmeg and anis to awaken and uplift your mood whilst bestowing many therapeutic benefits’. Imagining myself in Provence or Morrocco, I was disappointed when I opened the jar not to have a real ‘hit’ of these fragrances, but once I applied the mask, the scents really began to warm up and very soon my skin was literally soaking up the goodness. After the recommended 10 minutes to allow the mask to work its magic you shower it off, then moisturise. Even after the first application my skin felt really soft and looked less crepey. After a week I can definitely say my skin feels plumper and doesn’t have such a ‘thin’ texture – I really see an improvement and would certainly recommend it.
There are a wide range of products in the OCCO family – they recommend first using a body scrub before the mask, but I didn’t have any and as a bit of a body brushing addict, felt perhaps I wouldn’t need it anyway. I wait to stand corrected on this! And it would be interesting to see how one of their moisturisers applied after the mask differed from my regular brand. The fragrance has really grown on me too – so many products are too overpowering but this is subtle and soothing and particularly relaxing if you use the mask in the evening before bed.
The mask retails at £30 which is a great present for you skin, and definitely healthier than 12 or so cups of take away coffee I’m bound to buy in a shockingly short time. OCCO is available from leading department stores and its definitely a brand I would buy again.
This makes for a novel Mothers Day Gift or the perfect way to condition your skin as it comes out of winter hibernation, it’s also great for summer bikini bodies. Available nationwide in John Lewis and from www.occo-online.com
