Cupcake and I have long since extolled the virtues of Argan oil. For those of you who are not yet converts to this drop of elixir, the Argan tree is native to northern Morocco and has similar properties to the much better known olive. You can use the oil for cooking and in a whole range of beauty treatments and if you have ever been lucky enough to enjoy spa treatments in Morocco, you will know it forms the base of many of their lotions and potions.
Having fine hair, I’ve never thought of using hair oil, but am an absolute convert to a product I only discovered a few weeks’ ago but now can’t imagine living without. It’s called Moroccan oil and is based on the magical Argan oil, but with a few added ingredients including linseed. It comes in a pump dispenser and distributes about a quarter teaspoonful with each shot. Lightly fragranced so you don’t smell like a salad, this oil has given my hair a shine and texture it can only remember in days gone by before I discovered the magical properties of bleach – soft and silky and absolutely not flat and limp and with no apparent build up. I use it after conditioner (which admittedly I now use less of), comb it through, and voila – happy hair. Give it a go!
