In one of our latest features we wrote about great companies and the pretty bad ones, One of the best was ALEX MONROE , well Marigold and I did a little more digging on our friends fave jewellery range…not only is the jewellery stunning but she also had the most amazing after sales care we have come across in a long time…
AS YOU MAY KNOW BY NOW WE BOTH ARE ALL ABOUT THE PRETTYNESS IN LIFE…. TOTAL MAGPIES.. so needless to say now we both have a very long wish list of this fabulous range.
The Bumblebee is a great favorite of many a celeb… I did see actress Lesley Sharp (from a smashing TV series called Scott and Bailey) wearing one… and there are many more including: Sienna Miller, Emma Watson, Carey Mulligan, Thandie Newton, Jo Whiley, Laura Bailey, Lisa Snowdon and Emilia Fox list is endless….
I really want this beautiful horse shoe… but my absolute BIG want is at the bottom of this feature…. I digress.. more about Alex
In 1987 the Alex Monroe brand was established, when Alex set up his first studio in South London to make great quality, wearable jewellery, which is originally designed and well priced. Everything is still hand made in Alex’s London studios by skilled craftspeople – something of a rarity in this age of so many imports. Just look at the work that has gone into this daisy ring.
Alex’s inspiration, right from the beginning of his career has been to use nature as a metaphor or tool to pull out themes of nostalgia and Englishness, with the delicacy of a bygone age. The UK Jewellery Awards 2008 saw Alex being awarded the prestigious title of ‘Designer of the Year’. It was the highest praise Alex could receive, and the judges were unanimous in their decision saying: “His Quality is perfect and his style is so consistent.”

Great news for all Alex Monroe fans, he has opened his first stand-alone store, situated in the London Bridge / Borough area. The building will also form Alex Monroe HQ, and has been designed by award winning architects DSDHA with Alex taking a very hands-on approach in the process, and is built from sustainable materials, very much in line with the brand philosophy.
The shop itself will be typically ‘Alex Monroe’ and a great opportunity for our customers to really see and experience what the brand is all about, with quirky details and little surprises!
AND HERE IT IS..TA’DAHHHH, THIS IS THE ONE I COVERT MOST… THIS LITTLE SWALLOW NECKLACE IS JOYOUS… I CAN JUST SEE IT AROUND MY NECK… HINTS TO MY ’OH’ ARE COMING STRONG AND FAST!
