Sex, passion, beauty, twisted plots, palaces, incest, intrigue, family feuds and moral dilemmas. Add sword fighting, manipulative women and acres of sumptuous velvet drapes and dresses, and this is pure TV heaven.
Think Dallas meets Ancient Rome with Jeremy Irons as the JR of the Vatican. Forget the unrealistic Disneyesque street sets, just soak up the drama.
