Let’s all sit on the sofa and enjoy a bit of Corrie, now instead of making the tea in the ad break  just nip and up down stairs! forget the choccie biscuits though! Get yourself toned in front of the telly… forget the idea of hours on that exercise bike covered in clothes…this is the way forward for me… it’s all so easy and you don’t have to splash the cash on lots of equipment it is all in your cupboards.

A former musical theatre and TV dancer, Neil Johnson is renowned as a personal trainer to the stars, Neil is responsible for creating some of the most famous physiques in sport, music and stage including the club’s Premiership footballer players and their wives.

Neil Johnson’s Quick Tips:

Double stair step ups to tone bottom and quadriceps

Put left foot on second step of stair case with the other on the floor, push through your left leg focusing on using your bottom to do the work then step your right leg up to meet the left then place it back down to the floor. Repeat 15 times or for the duration of the first advert approximately 30 sec then change legs.

Inner thigh exercise

Equipment needed – Pair of tights needed

Thread the tights through a stair banister and tie them so it makes a hoop stand. At about 2 feet away from the banister place your left foot on the inside of the tights loop, take the tension then adduct the left foot to the right whilst concentrating on keeping your body upright. Feel the inner thighs working.

Tummy and waist

Equipment needed – 2litre or 5litre bottle of water

Grab a 2 litre bottle of water or even better a larger 5 litre bottle with the handles on the lid. Place this in your left hand and keep both arms by your side and your body and legs straight. Keep holding onto bottle in your left hand then slide your right arm down the side of your right side making sure you do not twist the body or bend the legs.

Focus on pulling your belly button in towards your spine and flexing at the waist.
