ONE OF THE BEST BODY SERUM I HAVE USED FROM AROMATHERAPY ASSOCIATES

THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST BODY SERUM I HAVE USED, IT COMES FROM AROMATHERAPY ASSOCIATES. I guess this time of year we are all thinking about showing the flesh…  it may be whiter than white at this stage but we will have to get it out!  Here is my favorite remedy for the silky smooth skin I dream about AROMATHERAPY ASSOCIATES ENRICH BODY SERUM, it is not the usual greasy serum and it has the most exotic scent… no perfume needed! even my OH loves it. I have been using it for several days now and already enjoying the benefits, it absorbs so … Read More »

THE PEN IS MIGHTIER THAN THE E-MAIL

In today’s world of e-mail, text and the internet how refreshing to read yesterday that the fountain pen is making a comeback.  Sales are well up on previous years, and retailers put this down to the return to traditional values in times of economic uncertainty.  Whether your budget stretches to a Montblanc or a  Graf von Faber-Castell is another matter, you heard it here first,  a fountain pen is the cool and classy girl’s must have accessory of the moment. It’s ironic highlighting this trend on a blog, brought to you via cyberspace, but I bet there isn’t a single one of you who … Read More »

CHELSEA

Elvis Costello sang ‘I don’t want to go to Chelsea’ but he doesn’t know what he was missing.  Not only did Chelsea Football Club pave the way for celebration by winning Sunday night’s Champion’s League, but the sun – at last – is shining.  Blue definitely is the colour, and it’s all over the catwalk too. And no doubt there will be plenty of blue at Chelsea Flower Show which blossoms from today.  Open to RHS members from tomorrow, Tuesday, and the general public from Thursday,  this week marks the real start to our spring – or is it summer?  Nurserymen and designers from … Read More »

WHAT’S WITH THE PEPLUM… NOT WITH MY HIPS!

Everyone, it seems, is wearing the ‘PEPLUM’ Kate Middleton (The Duchess of Cambridge) Emma Stone and Jennifer Aniston all in the peplum mode. Frilly, feminine and a hot new trend… suggested by fashionistas as flattering, probably true if you are in fact a stick insect or one of the above lovely ladies. Paris Fashion Week, which is let’s face it the crème de la crème of all the fashion weeks, have designers like Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, and Valentino showing their Spring 2012. Gay ‘Pariee’ showed that pretty peplums are the must-have silhouette for next season. The peplum is also the hottest red-carpet trend in … Read More »

BUT BABY IT’S COLD OUTSIDE

This is Heinz tomato soup weather.  The sort of weather when you look for the comfort in everything and forget fashion in favour of feeling warm and shunning chilblains.  I’ve put the bikini diet (though I hasten to add its been many, many years since I owned or even dared to own a bikini) on hold until the thermometer thaws out and last year’s sandals are still gathering dust in the back of the cupboard.  I’m still in mid March wardrobe  – boots (yes, always boots), as many pairs of socks as I can find and cashmere.  Well, it should be cashmere but the … Read More »

RAIN, RAIN, GO AWAY…

OK, we get the message.  We need rain but this is ridiculous. What’s a girl to wear?  I’ve been dying to slip my toes into some bejewelled flats but can’t bear to shed several pairs of socks and thick soled boots – can’t wait to feel the breeze in cool white linen but am still swathed in every sweater I own,  and am loathed to give up my default winter black whilst the grey skies are a permanent feature.  Each day my wardrobe tempts with glimpses of coral, pink and pistachio, but I’d be in danger of looking like the solitary deck chair on … Read More »

VIRTUAL RELATIONSHIPS, EMAILS, TWITTER, TEXT AND SO ON

There can be something really dangerous about texting, messageing, emailing, tweeting … it is the BIG problem of NOT being understood! You can’t get over irony, sarcasm or humour… in a text or email, what sounds amazingly witty inside your head can read like sheer drivel or simple rudeness, ….the keyboard is not always your friend.. I recently ‘nearly’ upset a very good friend via email…. what I thought was harmless and witty banter for her was weird and bit to brutal.. later found out she was having a very bad time with her other half and wanted love, affection and massive amounts of sympathy, … Read More »
