WOULD YOU DO THIS:

WOULD YOU DO THIS: How many times have things happened and you have said to yourself….wow I would NEVER have done that, spoken like that, looked like that, acted like that, behaved like that… Well there is a big cluster of people who don’t consider anyone but themselves. Is it courage or stupidity, is it ‘super hip cool’ or pure ignorance, maybe it is a complete disregard and disrespect and it is every where! Could be as simple as a fellow driver cutting in or cutting you up, someone jumping the queue in the bank, people who are very very late for appointments AND … Read More »

POPPY’S FUNERALS, A modern funeral company.

Poppy PR

How many of us avoid the subject of death and funerals, I do…bet we all do, well I have been chatting to a young lady who has a company which helps you have any kind of funeral you want… she is the most gentle and amazing woman who has taken the fear out of the whole subject and I for one have become her biggest fan. Poppy’s was founded by Poppy Mardall because she wanted to help people take creative control of their funerals. She feels strongly that everyone deserves a ‘good’ funeral. It should be a funeral that reflects the person who has … Read More »

BUILDING WORKS…. IN MY HOUSE!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Both Marigold and I have builders in the house, well they are still in my house, think she has got rid of hers already… I kid you not my whole house is upside down and this is all centred around a shower room…in fact it was a shower room but we decided to updated it … how can this tiny space cause so much upheaval… tis beyond me. My builder, Dave, is wonderful as is Kev the Plumber and Si the leccie, they are all working together (not at the same time, room is tiny) but they accommodate each other and try their best … Read More »

VIRTUAL RELATIONSHIPS, EMAILS, TWITTER, TEXT AND SO ON

keyboard

There can be something really dangerous about texting, messageing, emailing, tweeting … it is the BIG problem of NOT being understood! You can’t get over irony, sarcasm or humour… in a text or email, what sounds amazingly witty inside your head can read like sheer drivel or simple rudeness, ….the keyboard is not always your friend.. I recently ‘nearly’ upset a very good friend via email…. what I thought was harmless and witty banter for her was weird and bit to brutal.. later found out she was having a very bad time with her other half and wanted love, affection and massive amounts of sympathy, … Read More »

HAD THIS EMAILED THIS MORNING…VERY FUNNY FOLK OUT THERE

The Washington Post’s Mensa Invitational once again invited readers to take any word from the dictionary, alter it by adding, subtracting, or changing one letter, and supply a new definition. Here are the winners: 1. Cashtration (n.): The act of buying a house, which renders the subject financially impotent for an indefinite period of time. 2. Ignoranus: A person who’s both stupid and an asshole. 3. Intaxicaton: Euphoria at getting a tax refund, which lasts until you realize it was your money to start with. 4. Reintarnation: Coming back to life as a hillbilly. 5. Bozone ( n.): The substance surrounding stupid people that … Read More »

IN THE NAVY

SONY DSC

I’m in love with navy blue.  All shades of blue in fact, but navy has become my default setting.  It’s taken me a long time to get around to this way of thinking as, denim aside, navy has never been my colour of choice. Like so much in life, it all goes back to my childhood.  School uniform to be precise.  One highly unflattering box pleated navy skirt in wool as course as a hair shirt, topped off – of should I say bottomed out – with navy blue interlock extra large knickers with reinforced gusset.  Caught in a shower, and the wool took on all … Read More »
