OK, on twitter a lot of you tweet about the programmes you are watching and I have to tell you on the whole the comments are far more amusing than the programmes!!!!

But recently I have been caught by the comments on a couple of programmes I don’t normally watch, Embarrassing Bodies and One Born Every Minute.

First O.B.E.M is very close-up and extremely detailed footage of giving birth, I will tell you now I had to turn over when it came to one mum having an epidural… holy moly nothing off- limits… we were shown the WHOLE  thing! Needles, blood, everything in close up! And as someone who had my epidural messed up twice it scared the living daylights outta me!

That particular mum was lovely, as was her hubby, and they so desperately wanted this child. Years of IVF had paid off, she was a delight. 

On the other hand, the other woman on O.B.E.M was a 26year old, Kelly, or refeRred to by her family as Kel. She was having her 5th baby and at 26 years old, She looked much older than her mum! 

OMG it was horrendous… she was breathing EVERY  BREATH OF PURE GAS AND AIR…  She wouldn’t put it down and even when the midwife was trying to take her tempERATURE it was  struggle to get the gas tube out of her mouth long enough to get the thermometer  in and get a true reading of her temperature.

They asked her to move on to her side, she refused…. even when the very patient and lovely midwife explained it wasn’t good for her or the baby to be on her back… I won’t go into all the gory details but one minute she was sucking in the gas and air,  then her waters broke and within minutes she had her baby…. it seemed! this is telly after all ….. one push and there was the baby!

The other lovely couple, after hours and hours of  pain in labour, had to have a C Section… and had really wanted a ‘natural birth’.

Even worse than that was the programme Embarrassing Bodies…. I was near to fainting several times. Close ups of bums, willies, vajayjays, the lot…. including rotting feet (I have just shuddered at the memory) In fact every part of the body you really would NEVER want to see in public. If you are to embarrassed to go to your doctor with these problems WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU SHOW 6 OR 7 MILLION  PEOPLE…. ARRRRHHHH I just don’t get it…. it was revolting.

If this is the only way someone can get their 15 minutes of fame, it’s a sad world we live in… If they want ‘telly time’ they should go and sing badly on X Factor or Britain’s Got Talent. Anything is better than be remembered as the bloke who didn’t know how to wipe his own bum!

There is no way I can ever watch these programmes again… I’ll stick to reading the funny comments on twitter…. thank you
